b) Agencies: currently a variety of bodies are included in this category, whose functions vary from providing assistance in the form of opinion and recommendations (e.g. European Food Safety Authority), through providing inspection reports (e.g. European Maritime Safety Agency), to adopting decisions which are legally binding on third parties (e.g. Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market).
