Although the satellite communications sector is, and will remain, only a relatively small part (1-3 %) of the overall telecommunications services sector provided by cable, optical fibre or terrestrial microwave, it is a market with high growth potentials, which until now could not yet be fully realised due to a various regulatory restrictions of the Member States.
Auch wenn der Bereich Satellitenkommunikation nur einen verhältnismäßig geringen Anteil (1-3%) der Telekommunikationsdienste über Kabel, Lichtwellenleiter und terrestrische Mikrowellen insgesamt ausmacht und sich daran auch künftig nichts ändern wird, handelt es sich dennoch um einen Markt mit beträchtlichen Wachstumschancen, der aufgrund ordnungsrechtlicher Einschränkungen der Mitgliedstaaten bislang nicht voll genutzt werden konnte.
