Is it the intention of the government to call for the ouster of China from international organizations if it does not clean up its act, as it did for Nigeria, or does the government stand by the remarks made by the Foreign Affairs Minister, as reported in The Toronto Star on June 1, 1994, in which he is reported to have said:
Le gouvernement a-t-il l'intention de réclamer l'exclusion de la Chine des organisations internationales si elle ne respecte pas mieux les droits de la personne, comme il l'a fait dans le cas du Nigeria, ou préfère-t-il plutôt s'en tenir à la déclaration du ministre des Affaires étrangères rapportée en ces termes dans le Toronto Star du 1er juin 1994:
