The guard column is a combination of a separate cation exchanger (H+) and an anion exchanger (CO3-), each packed in columns of ca. 30 mm × 4,6 mm (L × ID) (e.g. micro-guard columns in a micro-guard holder) and connected in series or in the form of a mixed bed consisting of AG 50W-X4, -400 mesh (H+) and AG3-X4A, 200–400 mesh (OH-) in the ratio of 35:65 (m/m) manually packed in a column of ca. 20 × 9 mm (L × ID).
La précolonne associe un échangeur de cations séparé (H+) et un échangeur d’anions (CO3-), qui sont chacun introduits dans des colonnes d’environ 30 mm × 4,6 mm (L × d.i.) (ex. micro-précolonnes dans un support de micro-précolonnes) et reliés en série ou sous la forme d’un lit mixte constitué par une AG 50W-X4, – 400 mesh (H+) et une AG3-X4A, 200-400 mesh (OH-) sous le rapport de 35:65 (m/m) manuellement introduites dans une colonne d’environ 20 × 9 mm (L × d.i.).
