When deemed appropriate with regard to the risks to human health, the environment or environmentally sound recovery and disposal presented by a product, manufacturers carry out sample testing of marketed EEE, investigate, and, if necessary, keep a register of complaints, of non-conforming EEE and product recalls, and keep distributors informed of any such monitoring.
