Apart from the introduction of the Synergy Grants, few adjustments were made in the scientific strategy and they relate to the peer review: interdisciplinary proposals are now evaluated by the panel indicated by the applicant, with the assistance of other relevant panels; and a new "scoring" system (A, B or C accompanied by the rank of the proposal) was introduced to provide better feedback to applicants.
Outre l'instauration des subventions de synergie, peu de changements ont été apportés à la stratégie scientifique et ils concernent la procédure d’examen par les pairs: les propositions pluridisciplinaires sont désormais évaluées par le comité d’experts indiqué par le candidat, avec l’aide d’autres comités d’experts compétents; un nouveau système de «notation» (attribution d’une note A, B ou C associée à un classement des propositions) a été introduit pour donner aux candidats un meilleur retour d’information.
