5. In the case of veterinary medicinal products intended for one or more food-producing species and containing a new active substance that has not been authorised in the Community by . the ten-year period provided for in the second subparagraph of paragraph 1 shall be extended by one year for each extension of the marketing authorisation to another food-producing species or to one or more significant new therapeutic indications, if it is authorised within the five years following the granting of the initial marketing authorisation.
5. Pour les médicaments vétérinaires destinés à une ou plusieurs espèces productrices de denrées alimentaires, et contenant une nouvelle substance active qui, au .*, n'a pas encore été autorisée dans la Communauté, la période de dix ans prévue au paragraphe 1, deuxième alinéa, est prolongée d'un an pour chaque extension de l'autorisation à une autre espèce animale productrice de denrées alimentaires ou à toute autre nouvelle indication thérapeutique importante, si elle est autorisée dans les cinq ans qui suivent la délivrance de l'autorisation de mise sur le marché initiale.
