Health, one of everybody's primary concerns, is also one of the most important sectors of the economy, accounting for 6-8% of GDP. Under the Fourth Framework Programme, the Community intends to contribute towards the cost of conducting research in the following priority areas: AIDS, cancer, tuberculosis and other infectious diseases, antiviral drugs and vaccines, and the development of new tests for drugs.
La santé, préoccupation essentielle du citoyen, est aussi un des secteurs économiques les plus importants, absorbant 6 à 8% du P.I.B. Par le biais du quatrième programme-cadre, la Communauté souhaite participer aux coûts de la recherche elle-même dans les domaines prioritaires suivants: SIDA, cancer, tuberculose et autres maladies infectieuses, médicaments antiviraux et vaccins et la mise au point de nouveaux tests de médicaments.
