This can be achieved by, first, strengthening the SR&ED tax credits to include collaborative research so the incentive is there for true innovation; second, investing in the accurate and comprehensive recommendations of the External Advisory Committee on Smart Regulation; third, not scrapping but reforming Technology Partnerships Canada so it is better aligned with the needs of the 21st century economy; and fourth, developing incentives to stimulate investment in Canadian biotechnology throughout its long life cycle.
