Every time a theatre company or a film company decides to do a project that has been written by a dead author, particularly a dead author from another country, another culture, another language, another society, and certainly another history, that project should be taxed in such a way that the young playwrights and the living playwrights of this country, or these countries that we call ourselves, should have some sort of sustenance.
Chaque fois qu'une compagnie de théâtre ou qu'une entreprise cinématographique décide de réaliser une oeuvre écrite par un auteur aujourd'hui décédé, surtout un auteur mort d'un autre pays, d'une autre culture, d'une autre langue, d'une autre société, et très certainement d'un autre contexte historique, cette réalisation devrait être taxée de façon telle que les jeunes écrivains de théâtre, les écrivains de théâtre vivants du Canada ou de ces pays qui sont notre identité, puissent obtenir une forme quelconque de soutien.
