The government's history with this program was that they had an aboriginal loan-loss ratio of over approximately 80%. Our institution, the Saskatchewan Indian Equity Foundation, took over that loan fund and grew to be an institution that by 1991-92 had a loan-loss ratio of approximately 1%. Our people know how to serve our market, and through the strength of the Aboriginal Capital Corporation we went on to establish a chartered bank, which we believe will serve the financial needs of our members.
