1. By derogation from Article 6(2) of Regulation (EC) N° 1489/97, in the event of technical failure or non-function of the satellite tracking device fitted on board a fishing vessel, the master of the vessel shall stop fishing activities without delay and steam directly to the nearest of the designated ports referred to in Article 7 and shall have the device repaired or replaced.

Par dérogation à l’article 6, paragraphe 2, du règlement (CE) n° 1489/97, en cas de défaillance technique ou de non‑fonctionnement de l’appareil de localisation par satellite installé à bord d’un navire de pêche, le capitaine interrompt sans délai les activités de pêche et fait directement route vers l’un des ports désignés visés à l’article 7 en vue d’y faire réparer ou remplacer l’appareil.
