Bei der Übung Cyber Europe 2012 werden 400 Experten von Großbanken, Telekommunikationsunternehmen, Internetdiensteanbietern und staatlichen Stellen auf lokaler und nationaler Ebene in ganz Europa im Rahmen einer simulierten DDoS-Kampagne (Distributed Denial of Service, verteilte Überlastungsangriffe) mit mehr als 1200 Einzelvorfällen konfrontiert (unter anderem mehr als 30 000 E-Mails).
