Ziel dieses Protokolls ist die Verbesserung des öffentlichen Zugangs zu Informationen durch die Einrichtung von kohärenten, integrierten, flächendeckenden Registern über die Freisetzung und Verbringung von Schadstoffen (Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers — PRTRs) nach Maßgabe der Bestimmungen dieses Protokolls, das die Beteiligung der Öffentlichkeit bei umweltrelevanten Entscheidungen unterstützen und einen Beitrag zur Vermeidung und Verringerung der Umweltverschmutzung leisten könnte.
The objective of this Protocol is to enhance public access to information through the establishment of coherent, integrated, nationwide pollutant release and transfer registers (PRTRs) in accordance with the provisions of this Protocol, which could facilitate public participation in environmental decision-making as well as contribute to the prevention and reduction of pollution of the environment.
