In Fällen, in denen das OLAF nach Abschluss einer internen Untersuchung der Auffassung ist, dass angesichts der Fakten und des Umfangs des finanziellen Schadens interne Maßnahmen ein geeigneteres Follow-up erlauben würden, sollte es den betreffenden Fall an das Disziplinar- und Untersuchungsamt der Kommission (IDOC) oder an das betroffene Organ usw. weiterleiten, anstatt ihn den zuständigen nationalen Justizbehörden zu übergeben.
Furthermore, in cases where the Office, having carried out an internal investigation, considers that, in the light of the nature of the facts and the scale of the financial damage, internal measures allow for more appropriate follow-up, it should forward the case to the Investigation and Disciplinary Office of the Commission (IDOC) or to the institutions, bodies, office or agency concerned, instead of sending it to the competent national judicial authorities.
