Ein europäisches Überwachungssystem würde allgemein darauf abzielen, Arbeitnehmern weltweit Schutz gegen Unterdrückung, Mißbrauch und Ausbeutung zu bieten und dort, wo einzelstaatliche Gesetze unzureichend sind bzw. nicht angewendet werden und internationale Übereinkommen nicht ratifiziert sind, auf eine sozial und ökologisch nachhaltige Wirtschaftsweise hinzuarbeiten.
The general objective of a European Monitoring System would be to contribute to granting workers anywhere in the world protection from oppression, abuse and exploitation and work towards socially and environmentally sustainable operations where national laws are inadequate or not enforced and international conventions are not ratified.
