Das Übereinkommen zum Schutz des Mittelmeers vor Verschmutzung bestimmt insbesondere, daß angemessene Maßnahmen zur Verhütung und Verringerung der Verschmutzung getroffen werden, die durch das Einbringen von Abfallstoffen durch Schiffe und Luftfahrzeuge, durch die Erforschung und Nutzung des Festlandsockels, des Meeresbodens und des Meeresuntergrunds sowie durch die vom Land ausgehende Verschmutzung entsteht.
Whereas the Convention on the protection of the Mediterranean Sea against pollution provides in particular that suitable measures should be adopted to prevent and reduce pollution caused by dumping from ships and aircraft, pollution resulting from the exploration and exploitation of the continental shelf, the seabed and its subsoil and pollution from land-based sources;
