Taking up an initiative proposed by Austria, Belgium and Finland, the Council adopted in 2007 an instrument that seeks to enhance cooperation between Asset Recovery Offices (AROs) in tracking and identifying the proceeds of crime.[56] Similar to FIUs, AROs cooperate on a decentralised basis, albeit without the aid of an online platform.
