The complaint concerned a number of restrictions arising from the implementation of the Loi Evin. These restrictions mean that French television channels may only broadcast sporting events taking place on the territory of other Member States on condition that all advertising hoardings or other types of advertising promoting alcoholic beverages are removed from the sporting venues concerned.
Diese Beschränkungen bestehen darin, dass französische Fernsehsender Sportereignisse, die auf dem Gebiet anderer Mitgliedstaaten stattfinden, nicht ausstrahlen dürfen, wenn an der Sportstätte Werbeflächen oder Werbeelemente für alkoholische Getränke sichtbar angebracht sind.
