Tonda Gentile Romana: Form der ganzen Nuss mit Schale: kugelartig, vorne leicht zugespitzt; Durchmesser 14-25 mm; mäßig dicke und wenig glänzende haselnussbraune Schale mit zahlreichen sichtbaren Streifen, an der Spitze filzig behaart; Kern: Durchmesser mittel-klein, Form: variabel, kugelartig, Farbe: ähnlich wie die der Schale, überwiegend faserig umhüllt; Oberfläche: runzlig, mit mehr oder weniger deutlicher Furchung, Größe: nicht so einheitlich wie bei der ganzen Nuss; Perisperm mittlerer Dicke, das sich bei der Röstung nicht vollständig ablöst; Nussfleisch bissfest und kompakt; Geschmack und Aroma: anhaltend und sehr fein.
