Ziel ist es, die drei Sektoren der Luftfahrtindustrie (Zelle, Triebwerke und Ausrüstung) in die Lage zu versetzen, ihre Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu erhöhen, indem kurz- bzw. langfristig die Kosten für die Flugzeugentwicklung um 20 % bzw. 50 % sowie die direkten Betriebskosten der Flugzeuge um 20 % bzw. 50 % gesenkt werden und gleichzeitig der Fluggastkomfort erhöht wird.Im Mittelpunkt der Forschungstätigkeiten stehen die Systeme und die intelligente Produktion, neue Flugzeugkonfigurationen, Aerodynamik, Triebwerkstechnologien, verbesserte Kabinenbedingungen und Nutzung von Multimedia-Diensten.
