Das Exekutivorgan des Pariser Übereinkommens, die Kommission von Paris, vertritt die Auffassung, daß es sich bei Hexachlorethan und bei den Stoffen, die infolge seiner Anwendung entstehen können, um Stoffe handelt, die eine Verschmutzung verursachen, welche gemäß Artikel 4.1a des Pariser Übereinkommens unterbunden werden muß. ...[+++]uß über die - mit einigen Ausnahmen vorgesehene - schrittweise Einstellung der Verwendung von Hexachlorethan in der Nichteisenmetallindustrie, insbesondere in nichtintegrierten Aluminiumgießereien und für die Herstellung bestimmter Magnesiumlegierungen, auszuhandeln. Infolge der Verhandlungen anläßlich der Sitzung der Kommission von Oslo und der Kommission von Paris im Juni 1996 in Oslo ist der PARCOM-Beschluß 96/1 über die schrittweise Einstellung der Verwendung von Hexachlorethan in der Nichteisenmetallindustrie angenommen worden, der an die Stelle der für diesen Bereich geltenden PARCOM-Beschlüsse 92/4 und 93/1 tritt. Nach dem PARCOM-Beschluß 96/1 soll 1998 überprüft werden, ob Ausnahmen von dem Verbot der Verwendung von Hexachlorethan erforderlich sind.
