Stresses that the ESF is the most important instrument for the implementation of the social dimension of the Europe 2020 strategy and that the fund can contribute significantly to the fulfilment of the central priorities of that strategy, namely employment, transition to a sustainable economy, a lower number of school drop-outs, fighting against poverty, discrimination and social exclusion and finding answers to the different social situations people find themselves in; stresses, in this context, that, alongside GDP, other social indicators would be useful in the SWOT analysis;
28. betont, dass der ESF das wichtigste Instrument zur Verwirklichung der sozialen Dimension der Strategie Europa 2020 ist und dass der Fonds in hohem Maße zur Verwirklichung der zentralen Anliegen dieser Strategie beitragen kann, d. h. zur Beschäftigung, zum Übergang zu einer nachhaltigen Wirtschaft, zur Verringerung der Zahl der Schulabbrecher und zur Bekämpfung von Armut, Diskriminierung und sozialer Ausgrenzung; betont in diesem Zusammenhang, dass neben dem BIP andere soziale Indikatoren für die SWOT-Analyse nützlich wären;
