Anna Diamantopoulou, Commissioner for Employment and Social Affairs added: "An important aspect of the Commission's proposals for the textiles industry is the focus on issues of corporate social responsibility - including respect for international labour and environmental standards - and responsible management of industrial change, including consultation of workers in good time".
Anna Diamantopoulou, die für Beschäftigung und Soziales zuständige EU-Kommissarin, merkte an: „Ein wichtiger Aspekt des Kommissionsvorschlags für die Textilindustrie ist die Betonung der sozialen Verantwortung der Unternehmen - hierzu gehört die Einhaltung internationaler Arbeits- und Umweltschutznormen - und der verantwortungsvollen Begleitung des industriellen Wandels, d. h. u. a. der rechtzeitigen Anhörung der Arbeitnehmer.“
