Taking into account its recent experience of this sector of the defence industry and having found that the structure of the markets had not changed in the intervening period, the Commission's examination of the proposed transaction paid particular attention to the additional vertical links resulting from SNPE's production of chemicals such as nitrocellulose and ammonium perchlorate, which are used in the manufacture of propellants for solid rocket motors.
