The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), was established in 1967 with the signing of the Bangkok declaration by the five original member nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand), and now encompasses all of the South East Asian countries since the accession of Cambodia in April 99.
