1. By way of derogation from Article 8, it shall be permitted to deploy gillnets with a mesh size equal to or greater than 120 mm and less than 150 mm north of 48°N or with a mesh size equal to or greater than 100 mm and less than 130 mm south of 48°N, in waters of less than 400 metres charted depth, provided that they are no more than 100 meshes deep, have a hanging ratio of not less than 0.5, and are rigged with floats or equivalent floatation.
1. Abweichend von Artikel 8 ist es gestattet, Kiemennetze mit einer Maschenöffnung von 120 mm oder mehr und weniger als 150 mm nördlich von 48°N bzw. mit einer Maschenöffnung von 100 mm oder mehr und weniger als 130 mm südlich von 48°N in Gewässern mit einer Kartenwassertiefe von weniger als 400 m einzusetzen, sofern sie maximal 100 Maschen tief sind, einen Einstellungsfaktor von mindestens 0,5 aufweisen und weder mit Schwimmern noch anderen Auftriebskörpern versehen sind.
