At this point, I would like to express my gratitude again to the Dutch President-in-Office of the Council, who – assisted by your efforts, Commissioner – really did weld these three diverse European institutions into a team, with the result that Europe will in future be able to play an important global role not only through the euro, but also in the fields of environmental and climate policy.
Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle noch einmal ausdrücklich beim niederländischen Ratspräsidenten bedanken, der diese drei unterschiedlichen Institutionen in Europa mit Hilfe Ihrer Aktivitäten, Herr Kommissar, wirklich zu einem Team zusammengeschweißt hat, mit dem Ergebnis, dass Europa neben dem Euro in Zukunft auch in der Umwelt- und Klimapolitik auf weltweiter Ebene eine gewichtige Rolle spielen kann.
