I therefore feel that there are three matters to which Parliament must draw the attention of both the Commission and the Council. Firstly, the need to ban all potentially carcinogenic or toxic substances in cosmetic products; secondly, a ban on the use of fragrances in products specifically designed for children, given the risks of allergic reaction potentially associated with these fragrances; and, thirdly, the hottest topic of this debate; testing products on animals.
Deshalb meine ich, dass es drei Bereiche gibt, auf die dieses Parlament sowohl die Kommission als auch den Rat aufmerksam machen muss: erstens auf die Notwendigkeit eines Verbots aller potenziell krebserzeugenden oder toxischen Stoffe in kosmetischen Mitteln, zweitens auf das Verbot der Verwendung von Duftstoffen bei speziellen Produkten für Kinder, weil das Risiko besteht, dass sie allergische Reaktionen auslösen können, und drittens auf die brisanteste Frage dieser Debatte, nämlich die der Tierversuche.
