The initiative should consequently seek to involve a broader range of partners, including SMEs, midcaps and medium size companies that are not on equity capital markets and with innovation potential, from different sectors (e.g.biomedical imaging, medical information technology, diagnostic and/or animal health industries) and the level of participation should be one of the benchmarks against which the success of the IMI Joint Undertaking is to be evaluated ex-post.
Im Rahmen der Initiative sollte man sich daher bemühen, ein breiteres Spektrum von Partnern, einschließlich KMU, Mid-caps und mittleren Unternehmen verschiedener Wirtschaftszweige (z. B. biomedizinische Bildgebungsverfahren, medizinische Informatik, Diagnose und/oder Tiergesundheit), die nicht auf Eigenkapitalmärkten gehandelt werden und Innovationspotenzial haben einzubeziehen, und der Grad der Beteiligung sollte einer der Referenzwerte sein, anhand der der Erfolg des Gemeinsamen Unternehmens IMI ex post zu bewerten ist.
