Vor einigen Monaten haben wir mit ähnlichem Verdruss erlebt, wie der Ton gegenüber Kuba verschärft worden ist, während wir für China mit seinen 3 138 Hinrichtungen innerhalb eines Jahres weiterhin nur höfliche Worte finden, die bisweilen zu einem verlegenen Gestammel abflauen, wenn sich Europa zur immer häufigeren, bisweilen nahezu industriemäßigen Anwendung der Todesstrafe in den Vereinigten Staaten oder in anderen so genannten liberalen Demokratien äußern soll, die weiterhin auf das Schafott zurückgreifen, wie Taiwan, Thailand, Japan und Indien.
