Calls on the Council and the Commission to promote the existing Draft Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling, Transfer and Use of Uranium Weapons and on their Destruction, and to present this convention to the UN member countries to be signed and ratified; calls on all the EU Member States and the UN member countries to impose a moratorium on the use of depleted uranium weapons until such time as a global ban on these weapons has been agreed;
fordert den Rat und die Kommission auf, den bestehenden Entwurf eines Übereinkommens über das Verbot der Entwicklung, Herstellung, Lagerung, Weitergabe und Verwendung von Uranwaffen und über ihre Vernichtung zu fördern und dieses Übereinkommen den Mitgliedsländer der Vereinten Nationen zur Unterzeichnung und Ratifizierung vorzulegen; fordert alle Mitgliedstaaten der EU und alle Mitgliedsländer der Vereinten Nationen auf, ein Moratorium für den Einsatz von Waffen mit abgereichertem Uran zu verhängen, bis man sich auf ein weltweites Verbot dieser Waffen geeinigt hat;
