The DCF method gives an indication of the value of a business based on the value of the free cash flows that the business can be expected to generate in the future, it is designed to find the present day value of future cash flows arising to investors, the resulting cash flows must be discounted at the required rate of return to arrive at an estimate for the present value of the business.
Die DCF-Methode gibt Aufschluss über den Wert eines Unternehmens. Ausgehend vom Wert des freien Cashflows, den das betreffende Unternehmen voraussichtlich in Zukunft erzeugen kann, wird der den Investoren entstehende Wert künftiger Cashflows für den Bewertungsstichtag berechnet, wobei die sich ergebenden Cashflows mit der erforderlichen Rendite diskontiert werden müssen, um einen Schätzwert für den Gegenwartswert des Unternehmens zu ermitteln.
