In its Communication to the Council and the European Parliament of 12 May 1998, the Commission informed the Council and Parliament that the territorial scope of the EC-Israel Interim Agreement on Trade and Trade-related matters currently in force is confined to the territory of the State of Israel which, under applicable international law, binding on all of the Community’s Member States and on Israel, does not include the territories occupied by Israel since 1967, namely the West Bank, together with East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights.
