Als Alternativen oder ergänzend zu den biologischen Nachweismethoden sind eine Reihe von Methoden wie z. B. die Hochleistungs-Flüssigkeitschromatographie (HPLC) mit fluorimetrischer Detektion, die Flüssigchromatographie (LC), die Massenspektrometrie (MS), Immunoassays und funktionale Assays wie der Phosphatase-Inhibitionsassay zu verwenden, sofern sie nicht weniger leistungsfähig sind als die biologische Methode, ihre Verwendung ein gleichwertiges Gesundheitsschutzniveau gewährleistet und mit ihnen, allein oder in Kombination, mindestens folgende Analoga nachweisbar sind:
