Abweichend von Unterabsatz 1 kann ein Mitgliedstaat oder auf dessen Entscheidung seine zuständige Behörde einem Zuchtverband erlauben, reinrassige Zuchtequiden in das von dem Zuchtverband geführte Zuchtbuch einzutragen, wenn die Tiere nach einer anderen angemessenen Methode identifiziert worden sind, die mindestens ebenso verlässlich ist wie eine Deckbescheinigung, beispielsweise Abstammungskontrolle anhand einer DNA-Analyse oder Blutgruppenanalyse, sofern diese Erlaubnis mit den Grundsätzen des Zuchtverbands, der das Ursprungszuchtbuch der betroffenen Rasse führt, in Einklang steht.
