The events to mark its 50 anniversary did not prevent the Court of Justice from paying close attention to the work carried out throughout the year by those involved in the Convention on the Future of Europe and, while taking care to exercise the reserve appropriate to its role in the Community, from responding positively to requests for its assistance from the various Convention working groups concerning, in particular, the principle of subsidiarity, fundamental rights, and the question of the legal personality of the Union.
Die Veranstaltungen zum fünfzigjährigen Bestehen haben den Gerichtshof nicht daran gehindert, den Arbeiten des Konvents für die Zukunft Europas, die in diesem Jahr durchgeführt wurden, besondere Aufmerksamkeit zu widmen. Er hat dabei unter Wahrung der durch seine Aufgabe gebotenen Zurückhaltung stets positiv reagiert, wenn in den verschiedenen Arbeitsgruppen, die sich unter anderem mit dem Subsidiaritätsprinzip, den Grundrechten und der Frage der Rechtspersönlichkeit der Union befassten, um seine Mitarbeit ersucht wurde.
