As of March 2018, all new vehicle types will have to be fitted with the eCall system. eCall automatically dials Europe's single emergency number 112 in the event of a serious road accident and communicates the vehicle's location to the emergency services. eCall cuts emergency services response time by up to 50% in the countryside and 40% in urban areas.
Ab März 2018 werden alle Neufahrzeuge mit dem eCall-System ausgestattet, das im Fall eines schweren Verkehrsunfalls automatisch den einheitlichen europäischen Notruf 112 anwählt und Rettungsdiensten den genauen Standort des Unfallfahrzeugs anzeigt. Durch eCall verkürzt sich die Wartezeit bis zum Eintreffen der Rettungsdienste in ländlichen Räumen um bis zu 50 % und in städtischen Gebieten um bis zu 40%.
