The Commission has recently highlighted a new policy agenda designed to reinforce the EU’s capacity to compete in a global economy marked by the growing fragmentation and complexity of the process of production and supply chains and the growth of major new economic actors, particularly in Asia ( Global Europe: Competing in the World ).
