– (FR) Mr President, Commissioner, the first report of this part-session deals with an issue which is of major importance, not just for countries whose geographical location makes them liable to suffer the traumatic effects of oil slicks regularly, but also for all states whose supply of hydrocarbons follows the route which crosses the north-east Atlantic, the English Channel and the North Sea, one of the routes most travelled by oil tankers in the world.
– (FR) Herr Präsident, Frau Kommissarin! Der Bericht, mit dem unsere Sitzung eröffnet wird, betrifft ein wichtiges Thema, und zwar nicht nur für die Länder, die durch ihre geografische Lage regelmäßig unter dem Trauma einer Ölpest zu leiden haben, sondern auch für alle Staaten, deren Versorgung mit Erdölerzeugnissen über die Route Nordostatlantik, Ärmelkanal und Nordsee, einer der am häufigsten von Öltankern befahrenen Routen der Welt, erfolgt.
