Points out that the European integration process needs to be brought closer to young people, and accordingly calls on the Member States and regions to consider – in order to familiarise pupils with the EU institutions – incorporating the EU more fully into all education curricula, focusing on the historical background, purpose and workings of the EU, and encourages them to exchange best practice in this area at EU level; believes that fully involving schools is of essential importance to EU communication policy, in order to reach out to and engage young people;
13. weist darauf hin, dass den jungen Menschen das europäische Aufbauwerk näher gebracht werden muss, und fordert daher die Mitgliedstaaten und die Regionen auf, um die Schüler mit der EU und ihren Institutionen vertraut zu machen, die umfassendere Einbeziehung der EU mit dem Schwerpunkt historischer Hintergrund, Ziele und Funktionieren der EU in alle Lehrpläne der Schulen zu prüfen, und ermutigt sie dazu, auf diesem Gebiet Erfahrungen auszutauschen; ist der Auffassung, dass die uneingeschränkte Einbeziehung der Schulen ein wesentliches Element der EU-Kommunikation dafür ist, dass die Jugendlichen erreicht und einbezogen werden;
