It is important that we act internationally, and not unilaterally, through the International Maritime Organisation and Marpol Annex VI. It is particularly disappointing that only five Member States have ratified Marpol Annex VI. Unless there have been developments which the Commissioner could refer to, I understand that the United Kingdom - which is always critical of other countries that do not ratify agreements such as Kyoto - has not ratified Marpol Annex VI.
Wichtig ist, dass wir im Rahmen der Internationalen Schifffahrtsorganisation sowie von Anlage VI des MARPOL-Übereinkommens internationale und nicht unilaterale Maßnahmen ergreifen. Die Tatsache, dass lediglich fünf Mitgliedstaaten Anlage VI des MARPOL-Übereinkommens ratifiziert haben, ist besonders enttäuschend. Sofern es keine Entwicklungen gibt, die der Kommissar noch nicht kennt, gehe ich davon aus, dass Großbritannien – das sich immer kritisch über andere Länder äußert, die Abkommen wie das von Kyoto nicht ratifizieren – Anlage VI des MARPOL-Übereinkommens noch nicht ratifiziert hat.
