everal EIB-financed projects have been affected by corruption and fraud; con
siders that the EIB document, dated 8 November 2013, which defines the EIB policy on preventing and deterring corrupt practices, fraud, collusion, coercion, obstruction, money laundering and terrorism financing, denotes a lack of sufficient control in a number of cases during the implementation of EIB-financed projects; expresses its concern at the fact that in 2013 the EIB financed the Passante of Mestre projec
...[+++]t for a total of EUR 350 million and that, despite the fact that this project has been affected by corruption and fraud, which led to the arrest of several of the people involved, it is considering whether to refinance the project for an additional amount of EUR 700 million through project bonds; asks, therefore, that, in cases of proven fraud and corruption, the EIB be required to suspend and/or block any foreseen and ongoing financing for the affected project; 38. ist besorgt darüber, dass mehrere von

November 2013, in dem die Politik der EIB zur Bekämpfung von Korruption, Betrug, heimlichen Absprachen, Nötigung, Geldwäsche und Terrorismusfinanzierung festgelegt ist, darauf hingewiesen wird, dass bei der Umsetzung von EIB-finanzierten Projekten in etlichen Fällen keine ausreichenden Kontrollen bestehen; bringt seine Besorgnis darüber zum Ausdruck, dass die EIB 2013 das

EUR finanziert hat und dass sie ungeachtet der Tatsache, dass es im Rahmen dieses Projekts Korruptions- und Betrugsvorfälle gegeben hat, die zur Festnahme mehrerer Beteiligter geführt haben, erwägt, das Projekt mit einem zusätzlichen Betrag von 700 Mio. EUR über Projektanleihen zu refinanzieren; fordert daher, dass die EIB in Fällen nachgewiesenen Betrugs und nachgewiesener Korruption aufgefordert wird, etwaige geplante und laufende Finanzierungen für das betreffende Projekt auszusetzen bzw. zu stoppen;
