Not in as much detail as we – Wolfgang, you and others – would have liked because we actually wanted more political union, but, nevertheless, we can see not just the beginnings of the future shape of the continent but so much more: enlargement, more political union, a currency union, independent monetary policy on the continent, and tentative economic coordination - even if not done as it could have been done.
Nicht so detailliert wie wir – Wolfgang, Du, andere, das gerne gehabt hätten, weil wir mehr politische Union eigentlich wollten –, aber immerhin, da sind nicht nur Spurenelemente zukünftiger kontinentaler Gestaltung zu besichtigen, sondern Wichtiges: Erweiterung, mehr politische Union, Währungsunion, unabhängige Geldpolitik auf dem Kontinent, zaghafte wirtschaftliche Koordinierung – das wurde nicht so gemacht, wie es hätte gemacht werden können.
