1. Agrees that one of the main reasons for the Commission communication entitled 'A Competitive Automotive Regulatory Framework for the 21st Century' (COM(2007)0022) is the determination to make a contribution to the EU’s growth and jobs strategy and that the intention is also to do more, by adapting vehicles and infrastructure and applying technological innovation, to make European roads safer;
1. ist der Auffassung, dass die Kommission ihre Mitteilung über „Ein wettbewerbsfähiges Kfz-Regelungssystem für das 21. Jahrhundert“ (KOM(2007)0022) vor allem deshalb vorgelegt hat, weil sie einen Beitrag zur Strategie der EU für Wachstum und Beschäftigung leisten und darüber hinaus die Sicherheit auf den Straßen Europas verbessern will, und zwar durch die Anpassung der Fahrzeuge und der Infrastrukturen und durch technologische Innovationen;
