The third Regulation advocates adapting, on a provisional, autonomous basis directly in line with the negotiating directives adopted by the Council on 19 June 1995, the free trade agreements concluded with the three Baltic States, in order to take account of the Union's enlargement and to align the preferences granted to these countries on those granted to the other countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
