They deal in particular with the issues raised by migratory pressures, the right of asylum, and security: drugs, terrorism and organized crime. 2. Moreover, with the backing of their respective parliaments, the governments of some Member States did not agree and unfortunately still do not - or not yet - accept that Article 8a provides for mandatory abolition of checks on all people, irrespective of their nationality, taking the view that it covers Community citizens only.

Hinzukommt, daß die Regierungen einiger Mitgliedstaaten - unterstützt von ihren Parlamenten - nicht akzeptiert haben und leider nicht - noch nicht - akzeptieren, daß Artikel 8a die Verpflichtung beinhaltet, sämtliche Personenkontrollen unabhängig von der Nationalität aufzuheben, und die Auffassung vertreten, daß dieser Artikel nur für die europäischen Bürger gilt.
