A claim that a food is low in saturated fat, and any claim likely to have the same meaning for the consumer, may only be made if the sum of saturated fatty acids and trans-fatty acids in the product does not exceed 1,5g per 100g for solids or 0,75g/100ml for liquids and in either case the sum of saturated fatty acids and trans-fatty acids must not provide more than 10% of energy.
Die Angabe, ein Lebensmittel sei arm an gesättigten Fettsäuren, sowie jegliche Angabe, die für den Verbraucher voraussichtlich dieselbe Bedeutung hat, ist nur zulässig, wenn die Summe der gesättigten Fettsäuren und der trans-Fettsäuren bei einem Produkt im Fall von festen Lebensmitteln 1,5 g/100 g oder 0,75 g/100 ml im Fall von flüssigen Lebensmitteln nicht übersteigt; in beiden Fällen dürfen die gesättigten Fettsäuren und die trans-Fettsäuren insgesamt nicht mehr als 10 % des Brennwerts liefern.
