Maiju Salmenkivi interprets, in her own style, a dream world inspired by movements such as Romanticism and Gothic Art. She cleverly plays with the angle of view, uses colours in a serpentine fashion and mixes realism and the abstract, creating allusive images, such as the far end of a room or a disquietingly natural young women. She deals in human relationships and paints as if she were making a film.
