In the case of asylum, even though debates on the subject are under way with regard to certain proposals for directives, the Council, on 25 and 26 April, was able to establish general guidelines on the highly important directive laying down the minimum standards on the reception of applicants for asylum in the Member States, pending the opinion of the European Parliament.
In Bezug auf das Asyl werden die Debatten im Zusammenhang mit bestimmten Richtlinienvorschlägen im Rat am 25. und 26. April zwar fortgesetzt, aber in Erwartung der Stellungnahme des Europäischen Parlaments konnte eine allgemeine Orientierung zu einem so wichtigen Instrument wie der Richtlinie zur Festlegung von Mindestnormen für die Aufnahme von Asylbewerbern in den Mitgliedstaaten erreicht werden.
